YearAnnual sales values (£ million)0100200300400500600700800900201320142015201620172018DownloadStreaming

The graph shows the values for Downloads and some of the values for Streaming. Use the values for Streaming from the table to complete the graph.

How to approach this question

1. Look at the table from the previous question to find the "Streaming" sales values for 2016, 2017, and 2018. 2. The values are: 407 for 2016, 602 for 2017, and 829 for 2018. 3. On the graph, find the year 2016 on the x-axis. Move up to the value 407 on the y-axis and plot a point (using a cross). 4. Repeat this for 2017 (at 602) and 2018 (at 829). 5. Connect the point for 2015 to your new point for 2016, then 2016 to 2017, and 2017 to 2018, using a dashed line to match the key.

Full Answer

The completed graph should have the following points plotted for Streaming: (2016, 407), (2017, 602), (2018, 829) and connected with a dashed line.
The graph needs to be completed for Streaming sales. From the table, the values are:\n- 2016: £407 million\n- 2017: £602 million\n- 2018: £829 million\nWe plot these points on the graph:\n- For 2016, find the midpoint on the x-axis and go up to 407 on the y-axis.\n- For 2017, find the midpoint on the x-axis and go up to 602 on the y-axis.\n- For 2018, find the midpoint on the x-axis and go up to 829 on the y-axis.\nFinally, we connect the existing point for 2015 to the 2016 point, and so on, using a dashed line as indicated by the key.

Common mistakes

✗ Plotting points inaccurately.\n✗ Using the wrong line style (solid instead of dashed).\n✗ Plotting data for the wrong category (e.g., Physical instead of Streaming).
