The table shows the number of workers at a company in different years.
A time-series graph is drawn to represent the data. The first four points have been plotted.
    Complete the graph.

    <table border="1" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <th>Year</th> <th>2015</th> <th>2016</th> <th>2017</th> <th>2018</th> <th>2019</th> <th>2020</th> <th>2021</th> <th>2022</th> </tr> <tr> <td>Number of workers</td> <td>29</td> <td>34</td> <td>42</td> <td>52</td> <td>62</td> <td>70</td> <td>76</td> <td>80</td> </tr> </table>

    How to approach this question

Read the remaining data points from the table for the years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. For each year, find the corresponding number of workers. Plot these (year, workers) coordinates on the graph. Use a ruler to connect the last plotted point (for 2018) to your new point for 2019, then 2019 to 2020, and so on.

    Full Answer

The points to be plotted are: (2019, 62) (2020, 70) (2021, 76) (2022, 80) The completed graph will show these four points plotted and connected to the existing line.
A time-series graph shows how a quantity changes over time. The horizontal axis (x-axis) represents time (in this case, years), and the vertical axis (y-axis) represents the quantity being measured (number of workers). The points already plotted are (2015, 29), (2016, 34), (2017, 42), and (2018, 52). You need to plot the remaining points from the table: - For 2019, the value is 62. Find 2019 on the x-axis and 62 on the y-axis and mark the point. - For 2020, the value is 70. - For 2021, the value is 76. - For 2022, the value is 80. After plotting all the points, connect them sequentially with straight line segments.

    Common mistakes

✗ Misreading the scale on the y-axis. ✗ Plotting the points but not connecting them with lines. ✗ Connecting the first and last points instead of connecting them in sequence.
